We understand that funding an unexpected motoring charge may be difficult for a lot of drivers and want to help you with this as much as possible.
We are often able to arrange payment plans to assist you in managing the costs of the case more effectively.
Having extensive experience in this field, we have devised the following quotes as a guide to estimate how much your case is likely to cost. These estimates are based on past cases and in consideration of the amount of preparation time, expert’s fees, barrister’s fees and the number of hearings we would expect.
Please be aware that each case is different and whilst we will always do our best to minimise costs, there are some circumstances that may mean further work is required which incurs additional fees.
Rest assured however that you will be provided with continuous cost updates so you are fully informed of how your case is progressing and costing.
The Investigation Service- a FIXED fee
If you have read the information on this site about the offence for which you have been charged, you will be aware that we offer an investigation service for some offences.
As part of the investigation, we endeavour to:
Many people prefer to have their case investigated before they decide what to do as they are able to make a much more informed decision in respect of their plea if a defence is not immediately identified.
The specialist team at Olliers adopt an extremely analytical and "no stone left unturned" approach to all cases and all available evidence is intensely scrutinised. As a result of this, it is very rare that we advise clients to plead guilty following an investigation as there is almost always some way in which we can help. We estimate that we advise 2 out of every 10 people that their best option is to plead guilty.
The investigation costs a fixed fee of £850.00 + VAT and this payment is due in full prior to your first court appearance.
DEFENDING YOUR CASE
NOTE: Please remember that if we advise you to defend your case it is because we genuinely feel we can win. We have over a 95% success rate and if you do win your case, you are entitled to recover the VAST MAJORITY of the legal expenses quoted below.
Despite the ways in which the circumstances of a case can vary, due to the meticulous manner in which we prepare our cases and the leading experts / barristers that we instruct, we have found that different case types ultimately cost a similar amount to defend and have grouped them together accordingly.
It is important to understand what the quotes below incorporate and a summary is as follows:
The upper ends of these quotes will usually be reached where expert witnesses are instructed.
Drink Driving / Failing to Provide a Specimen / "In Charge" cases / Unfit / Drug Driving / Speeding
Between £4000.00 and £8000.00 + VAT
Careless Driving
Between £2000.00 and £5000.00 + VAT
Dangerous Driving / Death by Dangerous / Death by Careless

It is your legal right to have representation of your own choosing and we strongly urge you to contact one of our team to discuss this further.
