Causing Death Whilst Unlicensed, Disqulaified Or Uninsured.
As from the 18th August 2008 new legislation under the Road Safety Act 2006 gives the Courts the power to sentence drivers for up to 2 years imprisonment for causing death by driving whilst unlicensed, disqualified or uninsured to drive.
Prior to the introduction of the new legislation the maximum sentence for those causing death by careless, uninsured or unlicensed driving was a fine of £5,000.
